    Captain Dean Mitchell's Bio

    Admiral Dean Mitchell

Although it is currently the 23rd century, Dean Mitchell’s career began more than 140 years
ago. More startling is the fact that it began in an altogether different universe!

While the existence of a “Mirror Universe” is fairly common knowledge in the present, there
was, of course a time when it must have been considered wild science fiction. Admiral
Mitchell comes from this age, he also hails from the darker side of this “mirror”.

"Project Christopher" was created to bring Captains back from the past history of the
Federation so they might swing the balance of the ongoing state of war. Captain Mitchell
was one of these Captains, ...well not quite.

Most are familiar with the original incident involving Captain Kirk, where he and several
crew members switch places with their "mirror" counterparts. What is less know is, this type of                                                 "accident" has occurred more often than the few recorded instances (refer to historical data DS9.2367.97.I78654).

The Ghost Fleet had made an attempt to rescue the "Prime Universe" version of Captain
Mitchell from his doomed starship. The U.S.S. Solistar, that had ventured too close to a
singularity event, the ship was being drawn into the black hole and was beginning to break
    up.

They had arrived too late, Captain Mitchell was dead.

Instead they found an interesting turn of events. The "mirror" Captain Mitchell had been
accidentally transported aboard during the crisis. Being of unique character in both
universes, the "mirror" Captain Mitchell had acted in selfless manner and had saved
numerous crew from The Solistar, helping them to escape pods before the intense gravity
well could prevent their escape. In one last heroic effort, he even tried to save his
counterpart, who was working alone in the engine room trying to prevent a Warp-core breech.

The Captain of the Solistar had died, but Captain Mitchell was able to lock down the
    breech.

Seeing similar traits in both Captain Mitchells (an unprecedented situation, given the
nature of the Mirror Universe), the Ghost Fleet accepted him into their ranks. Captain
Mitchell, of course, found his new home more agreeable to his nature.
Now a loyal member of the Ghost Fleet, Captain Mitchell serves to prevent the escalation of
the present state of war in the Federation. Be it on the Klingon or Borg front, or for that
matter whatever threat materializes to jeopardize his new home.
