    Echo in Time

Captains log, Stardate 8597.04. Several hours ago Starbase 234 lost contact with the civilian hauler ‘Paradise’ with the loss of a number of civilian cargo ships over the last few months we’ve been asked to investigate. We are en route to its last known position.

The Miranda class star ship dropped to impulse at the last known coordinates sensors picked up engine trails leading into the nearby Azure nebula and some strange background neutron radiation, the decision was made to enter the nebula and find out what had happened. They found the ‘Paradise’ heavily damaged with communications offline, Captain Siverberg, Commander Ballard and a small engineering team beamed aboard the ship.

Continuous scans were made to establish the nature of the neutron radiation and check for enemy contacts that close to the neutral zone, after a short while the away team hailed and they were beaming aboard with survivors. On that the Echo dropped shields to prepare for transport but was hit by a Photon torpedo, before shields could be raised anther volley crippled the cruiser and killing the majority of the crew aboard the Echo.

Lieutenant Ramin and a mortally wounded Lt Castiglione managed to get enough weapons power for a volley of photons torpedoes and a shot from the phaser banks; they predicted the last possible position of the ship and launched a desperate assault decloaking and damaging the Klingon ship. This was however too late for the ‘Paradise’ which was concurrently destroyed, the explosion detonated a nearby sirillium cloud this opened a spatial phenomenon. As the Echo was dragged through the Klingon ship warped away with minimal damage.

When the crew awoke it had been two days since their encounter with the Klingon ship, damage control teams quickly repaired The Echo and restored emergency power. Acting captain Lt M Ramin and first officer Lt Poli limped to star base 234 keen to relay the news about a Klingon bird of prey that could fire whilst cloaked only to be met with the news that it was over 100 years since they disappeared and were thought to have been accidently destroyed by the nebula gas whilst trying to rescue the hauler.
