Tips for the Fleet system

Here are some handy tips for the Fleet system. I hope others can add their thoughts.

- Pick up a Fleet Credits boost from the exchange. They give you 20% extra credits whenever you add items to fleet projects and are fairly cheap whenever mass quantities of lockboxes are being opened.

- Use that pool of Fleet Credits! Most of us are going to be purchasing Fleet ships with Fleet Modules, so there is no need to keep more than 25-50k in the wallet. Also, they are obtainable easy enough with some Dilithium.

+ Purchase Fleet Duty Officers from the Personnel Officer on the starbases. Whites can be purchased fairly cheaply, and for a bit more you can get tac/eng/sci specific DOFFs. These DOFFs can then be turned right around and fed back into the system for more Fleet Credits. With the Credit Boost, you end up getting back about 50% of the credits you spend.

+ Purchase Operational Assets from the Quartermaster. For 1,000 Fleet Credits, you can get your own personal fleet of 3 cruisers to help in Fleet Events like SB defense or freighter escort. Other options are available, including science ships and carriers.

+ Purchase Fleet Mark boosts. For 15,000 fleet credits, you can purchase a 100 Fleet Mark boost. This increases the number of fleet marks you get from activities. The 100 bonus fleet marks get converted to about 6000 fleet credits, so again you make back about 1/2 what you spend.

- Turn in Commendation XP for marks. If you have more than 110,000 CXP in an area, you can turn 10k of them into 75 fleet marks, 100 for a critical. You can do this for every commendation area, so you can easily earn a few hundred fleet marks this way if you DOFF alot.

- Pick up an additional Duty Officer Mission slot from the Romulan Embassy, in the shuttle bay. It's pretty pricey, but having extra missions means more dil or CXP for marks.

- Investigate Officer Reports is now on a 30 minute cooldown - starting from when you accept the mission. So you could do an ISE STF run, then a short foundry mission, and earn dil, omega and fleet marks.

- There are now Romulan Threat-scaling consoles available in the embassies. They come in all the typical Science consoles (no Field Generators though). All the consoles are either -Threat or +Threat (just threat, your defense doesn't get modified), and come in three flavors - Plasma, Hull Heal, and Shield Heal. The Plasma adds to plasma energy damage and plasma torpedo proc damage, and will give all non-plasma energy weapons a small plasma DoT proc (stacks with multiple consoles). Hull and Shield heal varieties have a 2.5% chance of doing a small hull or shield heal, with a 10 s cooldown. So if you are already running Graviton Generators for example, it is worth it to come down to the embassy and pick up some of these consoles. The current mk X variety cost 2,500 dil. Soon we will have Mk XI for 5,000 dil. Mk XII will be 10,000 dil.


Klingon-specific

- If you're planning on running ground missions, visit the Starbase first and get a free 1 hour buff from the Bloodwine fountain located in the bar.

Federation-specific
- Sorry Feds, all you get is a disco.
