Biographical Data Pre-Project Christopher file:

Robert Baker is 3rd generation Starfleet officer and youngest son of Starfleet Commander Bob Baker. Born in Miami Florida on Earth’s Northern Hemisphere in 2231. At a young age Robert was a bit of a problem child, with his father being gone on long assignments with Starfleet. At the age of thirteen Robert ran away from home. At a restaurant in Panama City Florida he ran into an old man named Michael Kenmore (Charles ‘’Trip’’ Tucker III) living under an assumed identity, and is Vulcan wife. After Speaking to Cmdr. Baker and is wife about Robert’s troubles. Michael Kenmore and is wife took Robert under their wing. Robert became a model student in school and Michael’s personal training helped to make Robert realize that he had a very good knack for Engineering. After graduating from school, Robert picked up jobs on Civilian Freighters working as an engineering apprentice, and then in 2249 he was accepted to Starfleet academy. Robert was in the top half of his class in Starfleet Engineering School; his work was well above par in damage control, fabrication, and diagnostic engineering.

He graduated in 2253 and was immediately assigned to his father’s Frigate the U.S.S. Burke, as an engineering officer serving under his father who was then Chief Engineer of the Burke. Robert did not enjoy this. When he first enlisted in Starfleet he was told he would have immediate assignment aboard a Constitution Class Cruiser. This was probably his Fathers doing though, as he had served under then Captain Cartwright; and now with Commodore Cartwright’s help probably pulled some strings at Starfleet Command, Cmdr. Baker expected nothing but perfection from his children and he figured this would help mold him into a model Starfleet officer. Robert served as expected aboard the Burke and then in March of 2254 was promoted to Lt. Junior Grade and took immediate assignment aboard the U.S.S. Paladin a Destroyer as an Engineering team leader. Later that year after diagnosing and fixing what could have been a catastrophic warp core problem aboard the Paladin, he was re-designated as Assistant Chief Engineer of the Paladin. Early the following year after various run-ins with Klingon raiders and Orion pirates, and time and time again helping keep the Paladin in the fight, Robert was promoted to Lieutenant and given assignment aboard the U.S.S. Farragut as Assistant Chief Engineer.

Robert served admirably aboard the Farragut, even befriending and helping a young James Kirk cross train in the engineering department where Kirk replaced Robert for a time as Assistant Chief Engineer as he took leave for his father’s retirement ceremony. During his two years aboard the Farragut Robert was involved in numerous First Contact missions. In mid-2255 the Farragut was ambushed by six pirate vessels near Epsilon Canaris III, even though they were outnumbered six to one the Farragut escaped to Starbase 7 with the help of Tactical Officer Kirk and Assistant Chief Engineer Baker’s help. Then in 2257 while on a survey mission to the planet Tycho IV, the ship was attacked by a Dikironium cloud creature. One third of the crew was killed by this creature and Robert was in shuttle bay when the creature attacked, Robert was not accounted for after the attack and due to the shuttle bay being opened by Robert, to possibly assist the crew in evacuation of the ship, it was presumed the shuttle bay was depressurized and Robert was sucked into space, out of respect to his family, Robert was listed missing by Lt. Kirk.

Biographical Data Post-Project Christopher File:

In 2409 Admirals Quinn and Bailey under guidance of Section 31, in conjunction with the Department of Temporal Investigations, devised the framework for what would become known as Project Christopher. The initial plan was to extract officers from 2269 forward. But after reading Admiral Kirk’s memoirs, Admiral Bailey took an acute interest in Lt. Baker, which Kirk mentioned in his story of the Tycho IV attack, and also how Kirk mentioned that if Lt. Baker had not been lost in that attack, He said he would have been honored to have Lt. Baker serve under him on the U.S.S. Enterprise. Kirk also mentioned Baker had a knack for engineering and would have also been an excellent command officer. After receiving proper clearances from Admiral Quinn, and Section 31, Admiral Bailey personally took command of the mission to extract Lt. Baker moments before his demise.

This was hard on Robert to understand and was painful because he left all he knew behind. After explaining the situation to Lt. Baker and it being the nature of Robert’s extraction from the Farragut and because he was 12 years behind the other recruits of Project Christopher technology wise. Robert was demoted to Ensign and assigned to Starfleet Academy for system training and embedding into the fleet, albeit one year earlier, 2408 than the programs start date of 2409; under orders and veil of Section 31. When Robert returned to Starfleet Academy he was introduced to his liaison officer and future first officer Commander Taavok; a Vulcan Science officer. It was assumed that Robert would take to a Vulcan better, since he spent his teenage life with Michael Kenmore and his Vulcan wife and their children. Robert did better than expected at the Academy and actually passed his classes with higher grades than in 2253.

In March of 2409 Robert was set out to the Fleet and was given back his rank of Lieutenant. Robert was then assigned as Chief Engineer of the U.S.S. Sparta, it wasn’t a Constitution Cruiser, but at least he wasn’t stuck on a Frigate again. Robert did not have much time to cut his teeth in his new role and ship, when the Borg attacked the U.S.S Khitomer. The Sparta was dispatched to assist the Khitomer. Robert was on the away team that was beamed aboard the Khitomer to assist in engineering. He performed admirably and also received a commendation from Starfleet for his actions aboard the Khitomer. After returning to the ship, as his captain lay dead on the bridge, Robert took personal command of the Sparta and defused the situation with ease. He was later that day given field command of the Sparta by Starfleet.

Later that month Robert put in for transfer to Command Branch, which was received and accepted by Starfleet and promptly processed; with later assignment to Starfleet Command College. Early in 2410 Robert was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and given command of the U.S.S. Fremont, a 23rd Century Constitution Cruiser that was removed from mothballs under the orders of Admiral Bailey, Robert also was granted a hand-picked crew that was extracted from the Farragut. Comprised of his friends aboard the Farragut that lost their lives that day in 2257, now Lt. Commander Daniel Swindle- Chief Medical Officer, Commander Matthew Roe-Chief of Security, and Tactical Officer Lt. Commander Cornell Coleman. Robert also picked Commander Taavok as his First Officer.

During this time Robert’s career in Starfleet has been nothing short of storybook. He was decorated for actions during a battle with Klingon raiders near Space station K-7. He was promoted to Commander later that year and given the command of the U.S.S. Florida, a Constitution refit brought from mothballs by Admiral Quinn, Five days later Robert and his crew where given orders to investigate a strange problem at the Drozana station. It was discovered by Baker and his crew that Devidians where using the lower levels of the Drozana Station as a staging point for Temporal gates, that they were using to extract officers and personal from the Drozana station in the twenty third century and killing them. Much of this action has been classified by Section 31 and the Department of Temporal Investigations. But Robert was decorated for his actions at the Drozana station and was granted a field promotion to Captain.

He took command of a new Sovereign Class Attack Cruiser, the U.S.S. Arizona. At this time it was found that abnormal events were taking place in the Romulan empire, Robert and the Arizona where dispatched to Starbase 39-Sierra, to assist with the problems of the area. After investigations by Starfleet intelligence and the crew of the Arizona, it was found that the Remans were planning to rebel against the Romulan empire. During these actions Robert and the crew of the Arizona helped to defuse numerous situations in the area that would have destabilized the entire region and led to an all-out civil war in the Romulan Star Empire. Robert was decorated for him and his crew’s action during this time and even made an ally in the Reman resistance’s command.

Later the following year Robert was promoted to Rear Admiral by Starfleet Command. Unfortunately for Robert this meant leaving the Arizona and its veteran crew behind, as he was assigned to Starfleet Command College as a Tactical Professor. Commander Taavok was giving command of the Arizona. When Robert arrived at Command College, he immediately realized that this was not for him. He missed the ship; the camaraderie of his crew, the low level hum of the warp core, exploring the galaxy, the shore leave on exotic planets. But he did his duty and continued to teach at the academy, until one day in August; he heard over official Starfleet channels that the Arizona had been ambushed by Nausican raiders and was severely damaged in battle, the Arizona made it back to Earth space dock for repair, but unfortunately 248 of veteran crew lie dead or captured by the raiders. At this point Robert realized that, enough is enough, “they brought me to this time to assist against this kind of problems, now they got me conducting lectures at the dreadful college’” he said to his longtime friend Taavok. Two days later, Robert did something un-heard of in Starfleet; he resigned his position at the College and demanded command of the Arizona back. After a month of no reply from Starfleet, Robert set out for Earth space dock, and after conferring with Admirals Quinn and Bailey, he threatened completely resigning from Starfleet altogether, if he was not given command of the Arizona back. After realizing that they could be losing one of the best career officers they have had since Admiral Kirk, and after a long private conference with Bailey, it was decided by Quinn that Robert would be given permanent command of the Arizona. So after a short stint in the repair yards, Robert and the crew of the Arizona set out of space dock and was immediately dispatched to Deep Space 9 for patrol duties. To be continued……

Very Nice! I had to read it over three sitting b/c people kept interrupting my play during work time

I really like how you broke it down into before "death" and after "death". It was cool how you brought Kirk into it but it would have been better if he were your foot washing boy (not that he would have taken that position)
